We decided to check out the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. Recognise this from the Da Vinci Code?
We followed the signs to the Mona Lisa. And there she was – a tiny, unimpressive picture behind glass and a wall of gawking tourists. The man in the foreground obviously doesn’t seem too impressed.
Here’s a close up view (well, as good as I could get with my camera zoomed in).
So that was it from the Louvre… or so I thought. Kat and Joe wanted to look at everything else, and I, well… didn’t. The louvre is a massive museum (have a look in the pic below), so there is a lot to cover. Apparently, if you look at every artefact for 2 mins, you will be there for seven years. I definitely didn’t want to test this out. But we did spend the next 3 or so hours looking at other dull paintings and thousand year old pottery (yawn).
Notice I am smiling in the picture below. This is because I hadn’t gone in yet.
