One night, we wined and dined French restaurant in a really cool, restaurant district closed off to traffic. We sampled different parts of the French cuisine – in other words, we ate snails.
Sort of chewy and a little bit slimy, but they were actually really good! Expensive, but good. Well that’s my story anyway, and i’m sticking to it.
Joe has a go.
By the way, the whole wining and dining thing was a one off. Every other day we did things as cheaply as we could. A simple buffet breakfast (bread and cereal) was included in our hotel, so to last us the rest of the day, we would shove as much of the breakfast food as possible into our backpack without anyone noticing! Ah, the joys of being a poor gappy. 🙂
