The first night in Edinburgh (the friday night), we went on a pub crawl. Adjacent to the main street in Edinburgh (princes st), there is an old lane closed off to traffic, that is filled to the brim with old scottish bars. We walked along and went into whichever ones took our fancy!

During monday’s staff meeting, one of the teacher’s said that they were short of staff members for the skiing trip on Wednesday, and if anyone would like to volunteer, it would be greatly appreciated. Every Sunday, the boarders head off to church, accompanied by us four gappies and the headmaster. This is the local church, just 2 minutes down the road. It’s absolutely stunning!

I didn’t really know what a ‘Burns’ night actually was. All I knew was that i had to wear something tartan, and it was a dinner for the seniors at a high school about 50 mins down the road. But it was so much more…
